As 2023 unfolds, providers will be focused on addressing dangerously high rates of clinician burnout and labor shortages across all roles, coupled with continued revenue and margin pressure. They must also reimagine patient flow to meet the changing needs of patients and providers and improve coordination across disparate settings. Thinking about care orchestration more holistically will enable health systems to create the operational scale that will trigger better utilization of their resources and optimal patient outcomes. This means utilizing appropriate technology to address operational redundancies, inefficiencies, and site of care decision-making that contribute to clinician workload, stress, and burnout.
